Custom Home Insulation

Payless Insulation has been installing environmentally friendly insulation products since 1979. Our products and methods have proven results. We pride ourselves on installing the safest most effective sustainable products. Building a new home has plenty of challenges and making solid decisions regarding comfort and energy efficiency are crucial. Utilizing your Payless Insulation specialists, with your choice of materials, planning stages, and overseeing the installation of your custom home will eliminate costly mistakes. Proper insulation drastically reduces heating and cooling costs as well as prolong the life cycle of your HVAC system by reducing maintenance and early replacement of your air conditioning units.

New construction homes come with certain challenges. Payless Insulation insulates all areas of the home to include all corners and T’s. The attic area in new construction homes is often left under-insulated, while the walls are the main focus. Payless Insulation understands the importance of both because a combination of quality applications ensures absolute comfort and savings.

Healthy Home Applications

Although foam insulation is a very popular application today, there are drawbacks when it comes to safety,  increased cubic footage, sound-transfer from the attic through the ceiling, and the vulnerability to be poorly applicated. Since R-Value is only a measurement, it doesn’t tell the full story regarding the efficiency of different products.

Cellulose insulation greatly reduces air infiltration, a major contributor to high electric bills. Roughly 30% of your heating and insulating costs are due to air infiltration. With cellulose insulation custom installed in your home, you will greatly reduce your air infiltration, providing significant utility bill savings. Cellulose has a greater R-Value per inch over fiberglass insulation – meaning you can achieve a greater insulating effect in smaller spaces with cellulose.

At Payless Insulation we primarily use environmentally friendly insulation materials. Natural materials like cellulose and cotton insulate better than petroleum-based materials, man-made mineral fibers, and foam. There is no off-gassing, no requirement for Hazmat protective suits, and no need to abandon your home-site to allow the material to cure. Nothing toxic!

Custom Acoustical Applications

Controlling sound and noise transmission through walls, ceilings, and floors can be a challenge in designing and building a project. At Payless Insulation we primarily use spray-on Celbar cellulose insulation, UltraTouch cotton batts, and SonaKrete cellulose acoustical finish for noise reduction and sound transmission applications.

UltraTouch offers an extremely high Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) to effectively reduce airborne sound transmissions including traffic, airplanes, radio, television, and conversation. The cotton batts produce a 3D infrastructure that traps, isolates, and controls sound waves. The result is a quiet comfortable environment between rooms, walls, and floors. Natural Cotton Fiber Insulation provides maximum R-Value performance and maintains strong thermal protection. Furthermore, UltraTouch Cotton Batts are environmentally safe, mold resistant, class A fire rated, and easy to use.

SonaKrete® is a premium acoustic finish used in custom homes. 75% noise reduction off of the surface can easily be achieved with a smooth plaster-like appearance.

Unlike other competing plaster based products, SonaKrete® is extremely abuse resistant. It does not crack or sprawl with age, abuse, or movement from building components. Because of this, control joints are not needed. Substrate preparation that is normally required for plaster based products is not needed, which saves considerable cost and time on projects. A minimum of a Level 4 finish is required for a smoother look.

Payless Insulation is the only residential licensed applicator of SonaKrete®.
