Everyone is concerned about the cost of heating and cooling their homes. Not only that, we know more than ever about the environmental and political impact our energy choices can have. Properly insulating and air sealing your home is one of the quickest, easiest, most cost-effective steps you can take to immediately reduce your heating and cooling bills.
At Payless Insulation, we use a variety of installation methods depending on the area of the building we are insulating. The most common are spraying or blowing into an area, pressure filling into cavities, and fitting or placing batts. We provide the best material for your project:
Insulation fibers are sprayed or blown into place and fill cracks, voids, and seams, forming a continuous coating over the surface, which reduces air infiltration. Unlike prefabricated insulation (called batts or rolls), the materials we use leave no voids or compressed areas that would reduce thermal efficiency. The result is a product with exceptionally low heat transfer characteristics using paper or cotton.
We can pressure fill (pressure pack) by drilling through existing sheetrock (drywall), plaster or wood (shiplap). Exterior walls can be done by drilling ¾” holes to 1” holes through brick or wood that can include cedar shake, rough cedar and/or 105 siding or regular wood siding. Asbestos, aluminum siding, hardy plank or anything that will crack or split must be done from the interior side only.
Celbar® Cellulose Insulation
Celbar® is a spray-applied insulation product for residential or commercial use. It is a blend of specially prepared cellulose fibers which are organic in nature and treated for adhesion and fire resistance. When sprayed in place, the interlocking fibers result in a mass which produces exceptional sound and thermal properties. As Celbar® is applied to wall, floor, and ceiling cavities, it forms a monolithic coating which seals cracks and holes in the wallboard, around plumbing and electrical outlets, vent ducts and other irregularities. This enables Celbar® to significantly reduce the infiltration of air and sound, increasing the thermal and acoustic performance. A notable advantage of the Celbar® system is its STC performance. Because of the monolithic coverage and sealing action, Celbar assemblies perform closer to lab-tested STC ratings in the field than conventional batt and soundboard systems.
Safe for you and your Home
When selecting insulation for your home, you want the best performing product available, and the one that provides you with the best value for your money. With Celbar® Cellulose Insulation you get both great value and great performance, including the highest R-Value per inch, excellent fire retardant capabilities, and exceptional sound control, not to mention the fact that cellulose is one of the greenest building products in the world today. Celbar® Insulation is processed locally in a clean, efficient, electrically-driven mill that requires relatively little amounts of energy.
Fire Safety
Besides saving you money, Celbar® Cellulose Insulation also provides extremely effective fire retardant capabilities. Celbar® has the highest Underwriters Laboratories (UL) Rating attainable for building insulation materials. It actually creates a barrier that resists penetration by fire. A specially formulated borate compound gives Celbar® a Class 1 Fire Rating, the highest possible rating for non-combustible material. This will slow the spread of a fire allowing you more time to escape any danger.
Sound Pollution
Celbar® provides superior sound transfer control demanded by building designers, owners, and occupants. Celbar® assemblies perform closer to lab-tested STC ratings in the field than do other conventional batt and soundboard systems. This is due to the complete coverage and the sealing action of Celbar®.
Small Carbon Footprint
Celbar® Cellulose Insulation is one of the greenest building products in the world. Celbar® Cellulose insulation is made from recycled newsprint and other paper sources that might otherwise end up in landfills, releasing greenhouse gases as they decompose. If all the paper currently being put into landfills each year were converted to cellulose insulation, it would save approximately 8 million tons of CO2 emissions. That’s the equivalent of taking every car off the road in New Mexico and Nevada.
UltraTouch Cotton Insulation by Bonded Logic
Sustainability, cost-effectiveness, and environmentally responsible partnership. Bonded Logic, in conjunction with Phoenix Fibers, has created a superior product that is both high in performance and has a very low environmental impact. UltraTouch offers an extremely high Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC) to effectively reduce airborne sound transmissions including traffic, airplanes, radio, television, and conversation. The cotton batts produce a 3D infrastructure that traps, isolates, and controls sound waves. The result is a quiet comfortable environment between rooms, walls, and floors. Natural Cotton Fiber Insulation provides maximum R-Value performance and maintains strong thermal protection.Furthermore, UltraTouch Cotton Batts are environmentally safe, mold resistant, class A fire rated, and easy to use.
White Blown-In Fiberglass
Recently, Payless Insulation started offering another “green” insulation product to our customers. We chose a white, formaldehyde-free blowing wool. It is an unbonded, virgin fibrous glass blowing insulation designed with optimal thermal properties and excellent coverage and blowing characteristics.
At Payless Insulation, we provide our customers informed choices for energy savings making your home energy-efficient, environmentally responsible, at a cost-effective rate.
