Passive Fire Protection products (commonly referred to as Fireproofing) are used to prevent or delay the failure of steel and concrete structures exposed to fire. These materials are intended to insulate the structural members during the event of a fire, delaying any loss of the integrity of the structural members. Payless Insulation has the expertise to apply fireproofing treatments to any project, large or small, new or renovated. Our commercial fireproofing technicians have installed all types of fire-resistant insulation including mineral fiber, cementitious and intumescent.
Fiber Fireproofing
At Payless Insulation, we use products designed for your requirements and specifications. We are proud to use Monokote® MK-6 GF. This product is a single component, spray-applied fire resistive plaster that is injected during the application process. The incorporation of glass fibers into the product provides multiple application benefits. This standard durability product is ideal for fireproofing interior locations that are concealed from view.
CAFCO® BLAZE-SHIELD® II is the industry-leading commercial density Dry Mix Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Material (SFRM). It is an inorganic, environmentally friendly, Portland cement-based formulation that provides superior fire resistance for structural steel and concrete in commercial construction environments.
Cementitious Fireproofing
We use various products by Isolatek® and Grace® Products. We choose the best product based on our knowledge and your requirements. CAFCO® 300 is the most innovative, widely specified and used commercial density, Wet Mix Spray-Applied Fire Resistive Material (SFRM) in the world. CAFCO® 300 is a Gypsum- based formulation that offers the most cost-effective fire resistance performance per unit thickness of any commercial SFRM in the world.
Intumescent Fireproofing
Intumescent Fireproofing, also known as Intumescent Fire Resistive Materials (IFRMs), are designed to provide hourly fire resistance ratings to the structural steel framework of a building. Intumescent coatings allow designers and architects the ability to incorporate exposed steel structures into their designs while providing the required hourly ratings for fire protection.
We use Carboline® Thermo-Sorb and Nullifire coatings designed for the steel fire protection of steelwork for 1-hour fire ratings, depending on the design. Their recommended use is the fireproofing of interior and exterior steel beams, columns, tubes, and pipes.
